If you think you know how The Walking Dead‘s sixth season is going to end, chances are you are very, very wrong. Robert Kirkman just revealed new details about Negan’s arrival in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, and needless to say he’s instilling the fear of genre Gods into all of his fans.
“All I want to say is, read the comic, but you’re not going to know what to expect. Part of the reason that that moment was such a big deal in the comic is the fact that you did not expect that it was going to happen, and so we’re very confident that we found a way to keep it as unexpected in the show as it was in the comic,” Robert explained. “So it should be just as intense, just as heartbreaking, and just as shocking.”
Um, heartbreaking? Ugh, that’s not a good sign. Those of you who read the comics already know what happens when Negan, who will be portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the series, arrive. I’ll spare those of you non-comic readers the spoilers, but he takes one very important life from Rick’s crew.
Now, despite what happens in the comics, many fans have come up with the conspiracy theory that Daryl is the one who will fall victim to Negan when he arrives. That’s obviously NOT what happens in the comics because, as readers already know, Daryl doesn’t even exist in the comics. However, that also makes him a wild card when it comes to when — or if — he could ever be killed off the show. Eek!
