Whaaaat?! Miley Cyrus is joining ‘The Voice’ for season 11 as a JUDGE, but the show has a very good reason why they want the wild child in one of their revolving red chairs. HollywoodLife.com has all the EXCLUSIVE details about why Miley’s joining the mix.
OMG!! Miley Cyrus, 23, will be making the big jump from season 10 advisor to judge for season 11 of NBC’s The Voice, that’s quite a big promotion! HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY why the “Wrecking Ball” singer is being brought in to go toe to toe with the likes of Adam Levine, 36, and Blake Shelton, 39.
“Now that The Voice is the only game in town they needed to ruffle up things so people will still be talking about the show. They wanted a different edge and fan base and that is exactly what Miley will bring,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. With American Idol coming to a close after 15 seasons, The Voice obviously wants to go big and shaking up the judge’s panel is one way to go about that.
But just because Miley’s coming in, doesn’t mean any fan favorites like Gwen Stefani, 46, will be getting the boot. “Everyone will be back eventually, including Gwen. They just have to adapt to make things interesting every season,” our insider adds. Hmmm, we have to wonder what the word “eventually” means, if they plan on rotating her again as a judge like they do with Christina Aguilera, 35, or bring her back as a mentor like she is with Team Blake this season. Stream Miley’s music, unlimited and ad-free, RIGHT HERE.
Holy cow, Miley will definitely bring a whole new vibe to the set! Not only will she by far be the youngest judge, she’ll be the only one still in her 20’s (and early 20’s at that!). Not to mention people will probably tune in each week to see what kind of wacky outfits she wears and what type of crazy comments she makes. She’ll also have another female judge on the panel with her as a few hours after Miley broke her big news, the show made another bombshell revelation that Alicia Keys, 35, will be replacing Pharrell Williams, 42.
