During the March 23 episode of Kocktails With Khloe, Koko told Botched plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow that her fillers did NOT work as planned!

“[Fillers] did not work for me. I looked crazy, and I still think the effects are in there. I went to have it all dissolved like three times. I did it and then Lamar [Odom]’s accident happened.” The doctor told her, “I think it’s just too much was happening to your real emotions. My face was so f***ed I had to go and get this whole thing dissolved. It was a bummer and now I’m afraid to do it again. And I’m almost like, I swear things are still in my face.”

Khloe Kardashian’s Fillers — Plastic Surgery Nightmare: How To Avoid

We asked two plastic surgeons to explain why and how this can happen! NYC Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Matthew Schulman told us: “A person can have a problem with filler if too much is injected or if it is injected in the wrong place. Injectable filler, such as Juvederm or Restylane, is often placed in the lips, cheeks, or in facial lines. When done by a fully certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist, the results are usually excellent. If too much filler is placed, the areas can look puffy and overfilled. This is commonly seen in the lips and cheeks.  Overfilled lips can give the appearance of “duck lips”, while too much filler in the cheeks can give a “pillow face”. Both are seen way too often in Hollywood.”

Dr. Schulman added: “There are millions of injections performed each year, and fortunately, the vast majority are done well. Not every type of filler is able to be dissolved, so you may want to choose a filler that has the ability to be dissolved, just in the rare situation that there is a problem. You also want to make sure that your injector has this medication available. The filler can be dissolved immediately, or even several weeks later.

A “frozen face” can occur if too much Botox is injected. This makes all the muscles paralyzed, leaving someone essentially expressionless. Unfortunately, there is no way to reverse Botox. It just takes time, as the effects of the toxin wears off. This can take several months. Again, the way to avoid this is to not have too much Botox injected…..you can always add more, but can take it away.”

Dr. Bruce Katz, Director of the Juva Skin & Laser Center in New Yorkfurther explained what happened and how to fix it if it happens to you. “Khloe had too much filler put in. Some fillers are dissolvable — Restylane and Juvederm are hyaluronic acid fillers and they last about 9 month but can be disolved. You can take the filler out. If Khloe’s didn’t dissolve, she may have gotten Radiesse — it’s a calcium product that is not dissolvable. But it lasts longer, over a year.”

“My patients — we don’t overfill them. We ask them, is this enough? Do you want more? You can see the result immediately. Khloe also got in done in the wrong areas. It appears as though she got it in her cheeks, in the front. If a patient wants higher cheekbones, filler should be injected into the sides of the cheeks.”

Neither doctor quoted here has treated Khloe Kardashian.
