The war between Kesha and Dr. Luke is far from over. Kesha appealed a judge’s decision to lock her in a contract with Dr. Luke, the man she claims raped her. Kesha says she’s in legal ‘slavery,’ while Dr. Luke has accused Kesha of making more ‘outrageous claims’ and ‘spinning lies.’
Kesha, 29, is not giving up without a fight, even though a judge shot down the ‘Tik Tok’ singer’s request for a release from her contract with Sony and Dr. Luke, 42, her alleged rapist. Kesha has taken the next legal steps to get her freedom, but Dr. Luke says she’s just lying when she should be recording!

The war of words continued when Kesha appealed a judge’s decision that refused to nullify her contract with Sony and Dr. Luke. “First, the Court erred in its decision on finding that Kesha could record without interference from [Dr. Luke],” the singer’s appeal read, according to E! News. Kesha’s appeal stated that “slavery was done away a long time ago” and that legally, “[you] can’t force someone to work…in a situation in which they don’t want to work.” Kesha argues that making her work for Dr. Luke’s company, even without his involvement, can still be considered “slavery.”
Wow. Kesha dropping the S-word is serious, but Dr. Luke quickly fired back at her. “The Court repeatedly stated Kesha was already free to record without Dr. Luke,” his lawyer, Christine Lepera, told Entertainment Weekly, “and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims. That’s because all the evidence — including Kesha’s own sworn testimony – show her allegations are false.
“Her attorneys can continue manufacturing even more false and outrageous claims,” Dr. Luke’s attorney added, “but the fact remains that her time would be better spent in a studio than wasting time having her lawyer and mother spin lies in the media.”
Kesha’s appeal argued again that if she waits until her legal battle is over to record new music, her “fame will fade quickly and permanently.” In fact, Kesha is taking on low-paying gigs to stay financially stable, a source EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com, as she’s doing a spring break show in Texas “to earn some money” while she fights for her freedom.
Kesha’s mother will likely want to fight Dr. Luke, especially after he says she’s spreading “lies in the media.” Pebe Sebert, 60, said she allowed her daughter to continue to work with Dr. Luke, even after the reported rape, because she didn’t want to harm Kesha’s career. “Looking back,” Pebe said, “I don’t know why we didn’t go to the police.”
Do you think Kesha will win her freedom, HollywoodLifers? Are you hoping she’s finally released from her contract with Sony and Dr. Luke?
