It’s tough to imagine anyone else playing Han Solo, and Harrison Ford is well aware of that! During a visit to ‘The Ellen Show,’ he reveals how he feels about the ‘Young’ spinoff movie, and gives a hint of another role he may be interested in taking on.
Let’s be honest: whoever steps into the role of Han Solo has some seriously large shoes to fill. Harrison Ford has been doing the role since 1977, so what would he tell the lucky actor who gets to play the “young” Han Solo? Well, not to do it. Okay he’s most likely joking, but his interview, set to air on The Ellen Show on March 22, is pretty good. Watch here!
“I’m flattered,” Harry told Ellen DeGeneres when she told him so many actors want the part. She then asked him about any tips he’d give to whoever the lucky star is. “Don’t do it,” he says with a straight face. “First it seems like everything’s going swimmingly… then you put in 25, 30 years, and then they just let you go! They show you the door. We’re done with you! Thanks very much.”
Of course, Ellen brings up that now he can do anything — like be the next James Bond? “I can?” he asked her? “I’d do that.” Ok well if Daniel Craig steps down, we’re voting Harrison to take over. Ellen naturally also asked about the next Indiana Jones which he just signed on to with George Lucas — however he didn’t have much to say yet. “I can’t say anything, because I know nothing! When they tell me, I can come back and tell you.”
Of course, J.J. Abrams is also aware that no one will be able to fill Harry’s shoes. “I wish I had something to say, but I don’t,” he told our sister publication, Variety on Jan. 12. “I haven’t turned my attention to that.” However, he did offer his advice for whoever it was that did take the role. “Watch Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’ll all be right there.”
