Mere hours after deadly terror attacks in Brussels left at least 34 people dead on March 22, Donald Trump called on America to close it borders. The GOP presidential candidate, known for picking and choosing details, said the U.S. shouldn’t let anyone in ‘until we figure out what is going on.’
While authorities in Belgium deal with the horrific attacks in Brussels that left scores dead, Donald Trump, 69, has already opened his mouth to offer a solution: slam the borders shut! The likely-Republican presidential candidate said that America needs to turn away anyone trying to get in as a way to keep the country absolutely safe.
“I would close up our borders,” Donald said while calling into Fox & Friends, according to the Daily Mail. When asked how President Trump would respond to the bombings that left many dead and injured, Donald said he would turn away anyone trying to enter the U.S. “until we figure out what is going on.” You can figure out what’s going on by watching the live coverage here.

“Look at Brussels. Look at Paris, look at so many cities that were great cities. Paris is almost as bad,” said Donald. The attacks in Belgium come days after Paris terror attack suspect Salah Abdeslam was captured in Brussels, and Donald didn’t waste time in stoking fears. “Paris is no longer the City of Lights. Paris has a lot of problems. All you have to do is speak to the people who live there where the same thing has happened and they are in fear. The city is in fear.”
Donald didn’t really wait until he knew all the details before tweeting a comment about the attack. The GOP front-runner asked his followers “Do you remember how beautiful and safe a place Brussels was? Not anymore, it is from a different world! U.S. must be vigilant and smart.” This is the country that Donald called a “hellhole” in January. Donald’s presidential rivals also offered their comments in the wake of this tragedy.

Yvan Mayuer, 56, the mayor of Brussels, told the New York Times that “We don’t react to Mr. Trump’s comments. Have a nice day.” How polite and clearly not afraid. That didn’t stop Donald from spreading paranoia, claiming that the U.S. is “taking in people without any real documentation” and that these people “could be ISIS. They could be ISIS related. We just don’t learn.”
While speaking with Matt Lauer on TODAY later in the morning, Trump doubled down on his ban on Muslims, per CNBC, saying that as president, he “would be not allowing certain people to come into this country without absolute perfect documentation.”
What do you think about Donald’s comments, HollywoodLifers? Do you think he was speaking without figuring out what was going on?
