Following a nail biter against Saint Joe’s on March 20, Oregon became the final No. 1 seed to earn a spot in the Sweet 16, joining North Carolina, Kansas and Virginia, who all won games earlier in the weekend. 2 seed Xavier went down in a buzzer beater against Wisconsin, sending the seven-seeded Badgers on, while fellow No. 2’s Villanova and Oklahoma will also get another chance to play (Michigan St. shockingly lost to 15 seed Middle Tennessee in the first round).
After a double OT win against the University of Northern Iowa, No. 3 seed Texas A&M will also head to the Sweet 16, along with 3-seeded Miami. On the other side of the bracket, though, Utah and West Virginia faced early losses, sending No. 11 Gonzaga and No. 6 Notre Dame onto the next round. Gonzaga will take on 10 seed Syracuse, while Notre Dame goes up against Wisconsin.
