OMG! Anytime Apple makes a new announcement about one of their devices, it’s something that shakes the world! This time it’s their new iOS 9.3 upgrade and here’s why you totally need it.
Apple has announced a brand new operating system update for their iPhones and iPads, and this is something you want to get NOW! The company’s CEO Tim Cook made the big reveal on March 21 and we’ve got all the details on what the new upgrade brings for its users. The main reason you’re going to want to upgrade to iOS 9.3 is it promises to help you get a better night’s sleep!
Its new Night Shift function will make reading in bed a lot easier on the eyes, as it adjusts display brightness and color temperature automatically depending on what time of day it is. No matter where you are, once the sun goes down, their devices will automatically shift the color temperature of the screen from cooler (blue) hues to warmer (orange) hues. The company even cited that “exposure to bright blue light in the evening can affect your circadian rhythms and make it harder to fall asleep,” as one of the main reasons for the change.
The Health app will give users recommendations for other apps to help improve one’s workout routine, lose weight, and sleep better. Wow! Who needs a personal trainer when all you need is an iPhone or iWatch upgrade!
Another big reason to get the upgrade is it finally fixed a major encryption flaw in iMessage that made the device much more prone to hacking. This fix comes in response to a possible attack situation revealed by researchers at Johns Hopkins University, who privately informed Apple of the problem in late 2015. Nothing like outside brainiacs to let them know of the devices’s flaws.
The Touch ID fingerprint reader allows users to lock access to their Notes app. If you can’t get the fingerprint sensor to work, it will still act just like the iOS lock screen, with users just needing to type in a numerical code instead.
Another thing users should love is that for iPhone 6S and beyond, the devices now support 3D Touch navigation for more core iOS apps. Settings is likely to be the most frequently used: you can quickly get to bluetooth settings, wifi settings, changes your wallpaper settings from just that toggle. How cool is that?
