Could Connecticut spring another surprise? UConn squares up against the Kansas Jayhawks on Mar. 19 at 7.45 p.m. EST at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa hoping to ruin our brackets. Can they win? Click to watch the live stream and find out!
Could this be another upset? As has already been proven, the so-called higher-seeded teams are falling out the NCAA Tournament early, so Kansas will have to be up for the fight when they take on UConn. It’s going to be an exciting March Madness match-up that you’re not going to want to miss, so check out the live stream below!
Kansas showed their scoring prowess in their First Round game against Austin Peay with a 105-79 win, which showed why they are seeded #1. Their record this year has been 31-4, so they don’t get beaten very often so it would be something to behold if they did succumb to UConn.
However, UConn moved into the Second Round with an impressive 74-67 win over Colorado, thanks in no small part to junior guard Rodney Purvis, who scored 19 points and sophomore guard Daniel Hamilton, who mustered 17 points. And that’s not leaving out senior guard Sterling Gibbs, who also hit double-figures with 12 points.
So far in NCAA Tournament history, UConn and Kansas has met twice before — in 1995 and 1997. Kansas recorded wins in both those games, which means fortune doesn’t favor UConn when these two come together. But maybe it’ll be third time lucky for UConn?
If they have an aspirations of winning, sophomore G/F Daniel will have to be at his defensive best and perhaps better his 8.7 rebound average this season. Shonn Miller will also have to chip in with the dirty defensive work alongside his teammate, bettering his 5.2 rebounds-per-game average this season.
