This is so sad. Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker is currently fighting for his life after he suffered horrible injuries in a March 17 motorcycle accident in Miami.
How awful! NFL player Tray Walker is in critical condition after his dirt bike collided with a vehicle in Miami on March 17. The Baltimore Ravens cornerback is only 23 years old. Ravens coach John Harbaugh has spoken out regarding the serious accident and is “devastated” by the news.
UPDATE: Tray Walker died on March 18.
Tray was riding a Honda dirt bike with no lights and wearing dark clothing when he collided with a Ford Escape at around 8 p.m. ET on March 17, according to USA Today. He was immediately taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
Upon hearing the news of Tray’s accident, Ravens head coach released the following statement: “Oh my God. This is devastating news. Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight.”
Tray’s teammates sent their prayers to their fellow player in a joint statement. “Our thoughts are with Tray and his family,” a tweet on the official Twitter account for the Ravens read.
Tray, who is from the Miami area, was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in 2015. He played in eight games last season. He dedicated his rookie season to his father, who passed away in 2014, ESPN reports.
He’s been looking forward to the next season of football. Even though he didn’t get to play much in the last season, he said he’s ready to make a statement on the field. “I’ll just use that as an edge for me,” he said. “I’ll learn from this season and hope that I can come back strong next year and get on the field and make the plays they want me to make.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tray and his family at this time.
