Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016, Kristielee Caride, has been dethroned and fans are NOT happy about it. After being crowned just four months ago, her titled was instantly snatched on March 17 for being ‘rude’ and having a bad attitude. Ouch!
After Kristhielee Caride, 24, was stripped of her crown on March 17 due to reported un-ladylike behavior such as ‘rudeness’ and unprofessionalism, her fans — and foes — immediately hopped on Twitter to express their outrage, confusion, and even support of the dethroning. This has certainly been a lot to take in, especially because Kristhielee is the first pageant queen EVER to lose her crown before the Miss Universe Pageant! “I saw the damage that she was doing and the damage that she was doing to the organization,” Desiree Lowry, the director of Miss Universe Puerto Rico revealed during a press conference on March 17, announcing that Kristhielee would officially be stripped of her crown before the pageant! Why you ask? Apparently Kristhielee had a controversial interview with Venezuelan entertainment reporter, Patricia Vargas, according to the Miss Universe Puerto Rico Organization. But was that really enough of a reason for this beauty queen to get the boot? Some of her fans certainly didn’t think so.

The crown of Miss Universe has been snatched back because she won’t give interviews. Back in the day it was for being a centerfold.

But not EVERYONE was sad to see Kristhielee go. While her supporters have argued that everyone has a bad day, the Miss Universe Puerto Rico Organization has insisted that Kristhielee was not fulfilling her obligations as Miss Universe Puerto Rico for multiple reasons.
In addition to announcing she doesn’t like cameras taking her picture, and being rude in an interview, Kristhielee allegedly had also missed multiple appearances scheduled by the organization. And for some, Kristhielee got what was coming to her.

In a lengthy Facebook post, the disgraced pageant winner apologized for letting people down. “It was never my intention to make you feel bad, hurting or damaging the image of those who have helped me to be where I am today,” she wrote in Spanish. Brenda Jiménez will be taking Kristhielee’s place at the up and coming Miss Universe competition. One thing’s for certain, beauty pageants are never without the drama!
