Makeup artist Mynxii White came up with Lucy’s pretty eye makeup look, and you can recreate it in just a few simple steps:
1) Prep your lids with an eye makeup primer like Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Using this before your shadow and liner will help give you a smoother application while also helping to keep your makeup in place longer.
2) Next, use a soft burgundy shadow like Avon Extra Lasting Eyeshadow Ink in Always Merlot, which is crease-proof, sweatproof and waterproof. The cream-gel formula means it’s easy to blend out the shadow for a wash of color from lids to brow bones like Lucy’s, plus, you can even use your fingers to apply it.
3) Saving the trickiest part for last, use a waterproof liquid liner like Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in Black, and carefully line your upper lash line, flicking it out at the end for a classic cat eye look. If you haven’t quite mastered liquid liner yet, gently pull your lid taut so the liner will draw on smoothly and work slowly. Start out by drawing a thin line in case you make any mistakes and build it as you go.
What do you think of the cat eye and burgundy shadow combo? Will you try it this weekend?
