This is so sad! Larry Drake, 66, passed away on Mar. 17 in his Hollywood home. Though the L.A. Law actor had been suffering from weight-related health problems recently, the death still came as a shock. Little is still known about his passing, but here’s what we know so far.
Larry was found by a friend in his Los Angeles, California home on Mar. 17, reports TMZ. The friend called for paramedics around 1:30 pm PST, but it was too late, Larry was already dead. According to the outlet, Larry had been suffering from some weight-related health problems, but nothing that should have killed him so suddenly. He was only 66 years old.
Larry portrayed a developmentally disabled office assistant named Benny Stulwicz on the hit show L.A. Law and the villain of the cult classic film Darkman. Larry was nominated for three Emmys for his role as supporting actor in L.A. Law, and took home the win in 1988 and 1989.
Larry has been in several other movies and television shows including horror movie Dr. Giggles, a supporting role in Bean as Elmer, Natalie’s dad in American Pie 2 and a regular role on sci-fi series Prey. Larry had dropped out of he acting business, according to TMZ, but he still coached new actors. We will definitely miss this diverse, interesting actor.
