The struggle is so real for Cookie Monster! When the ‘Sesame Street’ character bakes chocolate chip cookies in Apple’s latest iPhone ad, he uses Siri to do basically everything — except make the cookies bake faster! Watch the hilarious ad here!
There’s hardly ever a time when the Cookie Monster doesn’t want cookies, but when he’s making them himself, it makes his craving that much more difficult to bear! That’s exactly what happens in the newest advertisement for Apple‘s iPhone 6s, as Cookie Monster enlists Siri to help him bake a batch of yummy cookies. After Siri sets a timer for the Sesame Street star, it’s practically agony for him to wait!
After sticking his delicious-looking dough balls in the oven, Cookie Monster walks over to his iPhone 6s — he’s one tech-savvy Muppet! — and asks Siri to set the timer for 14 minutes. As he waits for his cookies, he makes a second request for Siri to play him a “Waiting Playlist,” and Jim Croce‘s “Time In A Bottle” begins to play. But the music doesn’t curve Cookie Monster’s cookie craving for long, because he immediately runs over to the oven to check on his treats…and they hardly even had the chance to bake yet!
In an attempt to keep himself pleased with something sweet until the cookies are ready, Cookie Monster hilariously tries everything from eating flour (which doesn’t go very well), reading a cookbook, and playing puppets with oven mitts. If he couldn’t entertain himself, he was at least successful in cracking us up!
While it almost seems the cutesy Cookie Monster commercial was advertising Sesame Street or chocolate chip cookies, it’s actually an ad for Apple’s hands-free Siri function on the iPhone 6s. The feature comes in handy — no pun intended — for Cookie Monster, whose furry hands might make using a touch screen a bit frustrating. But the most frustrating thing for poor Cookie Monster was the 14 minutes it takes for his cookies to bake! Don’t worry, Cookie Monster, Siri will let you know when it’s time to “Om nom nom nom”!
