The best episode yet? All signs point to . . . yes. Liza was put in a pickle last week when she found out about Thad’s cheating — but will she tell Kelsey?
Let’s start with Liza (Sutton Foster)’s insanely creepy work event. When Empirical welcomes their number one author, Edward L.L. Moore, into the office, everyone is instructed to do anything he asks. And for her, that means dressing up in a Princess Leia-like fur bikini and being his Princess. Yes, really.

A little back story: Liza is informed that the entire company is riding on L.L.’s books — so Diana (Miriam Shor) and Charles (Peter Hermann) cater to his every need. So, when he comes in to promote his final book of his series, Empirical holds the casting for the movie adaptation at their own office. And when the creepy old author sees Liza, he immediately casts her as the princess. This means she must dress up in an INSANE bikini (no really), in the middle of Times Square. Luckily, Charles saves her before Edward literally kidnaps her, and they headed out to have drinks. (Seriously, #TeamCharles.)
However, in the middle of drinks she was interrupted by a text (again) from Thad (Dan Amboyer), who had been demanding to see her after she threatened to show Kelsey (Hilary Duff) the video of him hooking up with his assistant. However, this time, he had leverage. He had gone to Liza’s apartment to try to talk and met her daughter — then looked her up and found out her real age.
So, when he texted with a photo of her ’96 graduation photo, she left Charles high and dry. UGH! The next day, we saw a redefining moment for Liza: she told Thad that she didn’t care if he told the world, she wasn’t letting Kelsey marry him without telling her the truth. However, after literally pushing him away, a crane from above fell and crushed him. Sooo, we’re pretty sure Thad is dead. I mean, right? (Hilary Duff did kind of tell us.)
