Donald Trump is convinced that his loyal (violent!) supporters will become so enraged if he doesn’t get the GOP nomination, that they’ll riot in the streets! The GOP frontrunner has made an already heated presidential race that much more tense.
After winning primaries on Super Tuesday II in Florida, Illinois and North Carolina, Donald Trump, 69, is certain that he’ll score the republican presidential nomination. But with threats of a brokered GOP convention, he’s lashed out with a terrifying threat: he believes his supporters will riot in the streets if he doesn’t win the race. Read on for the details!
Leave it to Trump to turn a presidential race into the Hunger Games. Trump spoke to CNN’s Chris Cuomo on the morning on March 16 to discuss his plan for gaining the 1237 delegates needed to secure the republican nomination. As per usual, it was a whole lot of frightening nonsense.
“I think we’ll win before getting to the convention, but I can tell you, if we didn’t and if we’re 20 votes short or if we’re, you know, 100 short and we’re at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400, because we’re way ahead of everybody. I don’t think you can say that we don’t get it automatically. I think you’d have riots. I think you’d have riots. You know, I’m representing a tremendous — many, many millions of people, in many cases first time voters,” Trump said.
Wow. Just…wow. Trump’s warning, and his own fear, comes from the possibility that the GOP will hold a brokered, or open convention, in July to select their nominee. In plain English, that means that even if Trump has the most delegates, it’ll basically be a free-for-all; the convention can allot delegates to whomever they want to be president! As Trump’s the frontrunner, this is bad news for him.
He may not want to talk about riots, though, consider that his rallies have incited brutal violence from his supporters against protestors. In Chicago, Trump postponed his rally because protestors and supporters clashed so hard, it was scary! Trump actually got so frightened at his Dayton, Ohio rally when a protestor yelled at him, that he wound up canceling the Cincinnati rally, too. What’s he going to do if there are even more “riots”?
HollywoodLifers, do you really think there will be rioting if Trump doesn’t win? Tell us in the comments!
