It’s official, the next Bachelorette has been named and it may just turn out to be the greatest follow-up to the greatest Bachelor season ever.
For the most part, the world wanted JoJo Fletcher to win over Ben Higgins‘ heart on The Bachelor. Not because they didn’t like Lauren Bushnell, but because JoJo had something many other women didn’t have — she was real. She was raw. She was basically, one of us.
I do have to say, it reminds me slightly of Kaitlyn Bristowe, who was also a girl’s girl, very likable and relatable. Both used their comedy to relate and flirt and well, it worked.
JoJo stood out from day one when she entered the competition with a unicorn mask on her head. But from there, she didn’t get involved with the drama all season, or make the other girls jealous. She focused on what mattered: Ben.
That is why Ben liked her from day one — he said she was the one who reassured him when he was stressed that he’d be okay. She became his best friend. Which, we all know, is a pretty great basis to start a relationship on. As Ben said also, they went through ups and downs and made it work — again, something that happens in real life relationships. It’s not all unicorns!
So, will JoJo’s season be the most dramatic ever? Probably not. Will we finally have a woman who is real, honest with everyone, and all around a respectable woman? All signs point to yes.
JoJo knows what she wants and what she deserves; she’s not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve; she’s not dramatic or petty. Overall, even though it was a bit shocking, there was no better choice than JoJo for bachelorette. And she’s going to make 25 men really happy.
Do you agree, HollywoodLifers?
