1. She needs brain and spinal surgery in order to survive.
Alison’s condition reached a critical point last year, when she was on a ventilator and it seemed unlikely that she’d pull through. Morgan told The Sun that while she made a miraculous recovery, Alison now needs to have both brain and spinal surgery — for which she could desperately use some of Mariah’s money to help cover the cost.
2. She hasn’t talked to Mariah in five years.
After having a huge fallout in 1994, Alison has apparently reached out to Mariah several times to no avail. But she stressed in an interview with Star in 2015 that she’s not trying to settle their issues just so Mariah will financially support her. “I don’t want Mariah to think I only want her for her money, like everyone else does,” she told the mag. “I want her to love me again. I want her to be my sister again.” Too sad!
3. She’s a mother of two, just like Mariah.
Alison has a teenage daughter and son. She revealed to Star that her past decisions — she reportedly used to be a heroin addict — has resulted in the inability to support her family. She can’t afford to pay rent or even buy her honor-student daughter clothing.
4. She spent three months in a psychiatric ward.
A few months after speaking out about her relationship with Mariah, Alison was reportedly placed in a psych ward following an apparent home attack that left her with a gash on her head. Similar to Alison’s current sitatution, Mariah didn’t do anything to help her sister. Considering Alison’s family was already struggling financially, her psych ward lock-up surely helped nothing.
5. While Morgan is spiteful toward Mariah, Alison has been relatively nice.
Despite what they’ve been through, Alison is proud of her sister and only wants the best for her. She even told The Sun, “It has been incredible watching Mariah grow and blossom into a successful, independent woman with the world at her feet.” Hopefully Mariah will find it in her heart to help her sister with her surgery!
