Ready to have your mind transported back to the early 2000’s for a music video flashback? Well, you’re in luck… because that’s exactly what Jillian Rose Reed’s “Candy Apple Pink” video does for Funny Or Die! At the very beginning of the video Jillian reveals that the song was written and recorded when she was 13 years old in hopes of boosting her Hollywood career, but nothing ever came of the song. But, as Jillian just learned, not everything can stay in the past!
In the music video Jillian is dressed to impress as a faux teenybopper just gossiping with her girls in the school courtyard when she comes across the dreamiest boy she’s ever seen. Just kidding, it’s the dreamiest chocolate bar she’s ever seen! Hey, does that piece of candy look familiar? Yes, it does, because it’s Jillian’s hunky Awkward love interest, Brett Davern!
But, Brett isn’t the only one to make a cameo in this music video. When a teacher reports Jillian to CPS (Candy Protection Services, duh), we meet a blonde Molly Tarlov and Greer Grammer, both from Awkward, obviously!
There’s one more surprise cameo at the very end of the video that you NEED to see. Check it out below:
Of course this music video dropped at just the right time — the very same day as Awkward‘s mid-season premiere! On Tuesday, March 15, the final episodes of Awkward kick-off with an epic return that takes place one year in the future. It’s sure to be a wild ride until the very end!
