Drake totally took fan interference to the NEXT level at a March 14 basketball game when he whispered not-so-sweet nothings in the ear of a Bulls player to try and trip him up on the court. But what’s even crazier? His pestering actually affected the game!
Drake, 29, arguably heckled Chicago Bulls player, Justin Holiday, 26, into a turnover during a March 14 basketball game. No joke! The rapper was coaching HARD and unapologetically taunting the Bulls in order to secure a win for his home team, the Toronto Raptors. But did Drake take his fandom too far? Watch Drizzy play dirty to decide for yourselves!
In the video, Drake can be seen unsubtly badgering Justin while the Raptors were losing their b-ball game — talk about a dedicated Raptors fan! With only seconds left in the fourth quarter it appeared as if Drake thought he had no choice — he had to take one for the team, right? ANYTHING he could do to help out his bros.
But although the artist’s trash talk DID lead to a Bulls turnover — refs called a five-second violation and the Raptors got the ball — the Raptors still lost in the end. True, they were only defeated by a mere two points, but that’s what you get for playing dirty, Drake! Hmm, after all of this though, maybe the Raptors should consider putting Drizzy on their payroll. After all, his strategies DO hold some merit.
And while only Drake and Justin know what the 6 God whispered in Justin’s ear, we have to assume it was NOT pretty. But can you blame Justin for getting distracted? Let’s be real, the only people who WOULDN’T get flustered by Drake standing that close to them are Rihanna, 28, and Nicki Minaj, 33. Maybe next time he’ll bring RiRi to keep him in line! I mean, the pair DO seem completely smitten with each other.
In the end though, it was all in good fun as Drake WAS there to just have a good time. And while we admit that sports games can certainly get rowdy, Drake’s trash-talking stunt was also pretty hilarious. It just goes to show how far some fans will go for a “W” — even celebs as huge as Drizzy!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Drake’s courtside shenanigans? Funny or overboard?
