It’s getting down to the wire on ‘The Bachelor’, and it sounds pretty positive that Ben Higgins will propose on the Mar. 14 finale. But, if it doesn’t work out, what happens to the ring? Chris Harrison reveals the answer in a hilarious new interview. Here’s the scoop!
Ben Higgins, 27, is in love with two girls on The Bachelor, but what would happen to the gorgeous ring if he didn’t propose to either one of them on the Mar. 14 finale? Chris Harrison, 44, pulls back the curtain and spills the tea in a new interview. We have all the details, here!
Everyone knows that Neil Lane is the celebrity jeweler responsible for the gorgeous engagement rings given to the Bachelor couples. But what happens if they don’t propose, or if they break it off later? After Entertainment Weekly tells Chris that Neil says he never got them back, Chris admits he keeps them in his stash.
“The rings I actually have at home,” Chris jokes. “They’re on a necklace and I’ll wear it around sometimes. I’ll wear it out.” The longtime Bachelor host then points to his neck as though he keeps them all on a chain. “I have, like, 20 different engagement rings.”
All jokes aside, Chris insists Neil gets every sparkler back. “Neil probably does get the rings back, he just doesn’t even know it,” he explains.”There’s some rule, after a certain number of years, you get to keep it anyway. But if it’s like months, it’s a 10 or 15 or $20,000 ring. It goes back.” Two years, to be exact, is how long a couple needs to be together to keep the ring, so Neil should have gotten all but six back.
Chris is also a little off on the value of the rings. The ring Ben will be proposing with is valued at $100,000! It’s an unbelievable 3-carat, emerald-cut diamond set in platinum by the master himself, Neil. We can’t wait to see who he’s going to give it to on Mar. 14! Hopefully he’ll never have to return it.
