It all comes down to this: Ben Higgins, it’s decision time! Will the 27-year-old go with flight attendant, Lauren B. or real estate developer, JoJo? Here’s our live blog of the season 20 finale.
The emotions were running high from the first moment on The Bachelor finale — and we’re keeping you posted on every moment! We know that Ben Higgins will get down on one knee and pop the question to one lucky lady; he loves JoJo Fletcher and he loves Lauren B., so who will be and how will he choose?[hl_amazon_single url=”http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000694ZR/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0000694ZR&linkCode=as2&tag=hollywoocom-20&linkId=P4SH67M4LH5ILCVP” header=”Watch” title=”Best of The Bachelor”]
The finale began with Ben visiting with his parents, and revealing that he was in love with both women — and then he brought each to meet them! First up was Lauren. His dad told her that he saw “a twinkle” in his eye that’s new. And she wasn’t at all shy: she told Papa Higgins she was in love, and ready to get married. But his mother was a little uneasy with the fact that he loved two women. After their meeting, she told Ben she was ready to get engaged… like now.
And then there was JoJo! She was next to meet the parents and she totally seemed to win (in my eyes). She told Dave that Ben was exactly what she had been looking for and she actually choked up. For Ben’s mom, JoJo won overall. Afterward, he told her that he’s not sure if proposing is the right move yet.
Next up was the final dates — Lauren’s was a little slow; he was worried about her being too good to be true since every date had been perfect — but real life wasn’t like that. Since he had never been through any tough times with her, he was hesitant. When the night came, it just got more intense — but Lauren was left feeling really worried.
And then it was JoJo, and the chemistry between them was so much more tangible. They jumped into the waterfall and made out– but then it got serious: they discussed their long distance relationship (she’s in Dallas, he’s in Denver), but she told him she’s do anything it took to make it work. He wasn’t so sure, which naturally, she was heartbroken by.
“What I’m feeling for you is deeper than anything I’ve ever felt,” he told her. “Somehow in two months, you became my best friend.” But she was still really confused because he couldn’t even tell her what about their relationship he was worried about.
And that was when she brought him into the bathroom to try and get him to admit how he felt. And with that, she asked if he loved her too. And he said “Yes.” Then she asked if he told Lauren, too. And he said “Yes.” Basically, my heart broke in a million pieces as did hers, and his. He was so much more honest with her that he was with Lauren.
When it came time to pick the ring, Ben wasn’t sure still — until he ran through some of the memories. With that, he made a choice and picked a ring to fit her. The first one he met with was JoJo — to turn her down after promising he wouldn’t blindside her. And then he did; he was honest and she tried to hold it together, and honestly got mad — we don’t blame her. However, she was very mature and even said, “I’m happy for you,” when leaving.
It was absolutely heartbreaking, but he wiped his tears and got down to business: calling Lauren’s dad. He gave him his approval, and with a “Whoo,” Ben was ready to propose. He was glowing when she walked up — and it only got better. He told her he wanted to wake up next to her every day forever. With that, he proposed and we must say — that’s the happiest we’ve seen him look. Oh yeah, and she said yes! Check out Ben and Lauren’s best moments! Find out who the next Bachelorette is now!
So, do you think he made the right choice?
