He’s out! Chumlee was released from jail after posting $62,000 bond. The ‘Pawn Stars’ fan favorite has pledged to fight the extensive drug and weapon charges against him in court.
After spending one day in jail, Pawn Stars regular Chumlee, 33, has been released. The reality star, whose real name is Austin Russell, posted the $62,000 bond on March 10. Chumlee says he’s ready to face the charges against him head on, and his lawyer is “looking forward to the truthful conclusion.”
Chumlee’s lawyer, David Chesnoff, revealed that the reality star has decided to fight any and all charges against him, according to Associated Press. He’s also ready to deny sexual assault allegations if they’re filed. Chumlee’s next court date is set for May 23, 2016.
Chumlee was arrested on March 9 after police served a warrant in a sexual assault investigation and found methamphetamine, marijuana and a gun at his Las Vegas home. He was booked on 19 drug charges and one weapon charge. He wasn’t booked on any sex crime allegation — that investigation is ongoing.
HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY from a criminal defense attorney in Nevada that Chumlee could end up spending a lot of time in jail if he’s convicted of the charges against him. “Chumlee has been charged with 19 charges of drug possession and each charge could earn him 1-4 years if served consecutively,” attorney Joel Mann told us.
Since Chumlee’s arrest, his Pawn Stars co-stars have come to his defense. Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison gave Chumlee a big shoutout on Instagram. “Don’t believe everything you hear. There are always three sides to a story, Yours, Theirs and the truth…” his message read.
