Ayesha Curry is trending on Twitter…and no one knows why. Stephen Curry’s wife was somehow linked to Kim Kardashian’s nude selfies because of things she tweeted back in December, and several fans are totally shading her. Some are even pitting Ayesha versus Kim!
What do Kim Kardashian, 35, and Ayesha Curry, 26, have in common? Well, not much — but Twitter users are finding a relation! Stephen Curry‘s wife made some social media comments about being “classy” months before Kim posted some full-frontal nude pics, yet people are having a debate about which girl they’d rather have. While some are joining in the discussion, many are questioning why it’s even happening in the first place!
As Ayesha was flipping through a fashion magazine on Dec. 5, she tweeted about choosing “classy over trendy” when it comes to her style. “Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style,” she tweeted. “I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters.”
The NBA wife initially received backlash for her comments, with those who disagreed causing a commotion on Twitter. But after Kim shared two nude pics on Instagram that fueled their own frenzy, suddenly Ayesha’s tweets were relevant again. Some Twitter users suggested that Ayesha was taking a shot at Kim — three months before Kim posted her nude pics, mind you — which then sparked an “Ayesha vs. Kim” conversation…and ultimately resulted in Ayesha getting bashed for being too conservative!
But wait…what’s wrong with wanting to dress classy? That’s exactly what other fans questioned while this whole debate was happening.
Ayesha Curry somehow became a villain simply by tweet that she doesn't like to show herself months ago. Twitter is a strange place.

There's absolutely no reason to hate Ayesha Curry other than jealously that men like her & want women to be like her

I love how "a Kim K" or "an Ayesha curry" is a thing now. Y'all have made these women into archetypes but don't know what they do privately

lmfao twitter acting like you can go to the local corner store and be like "can I get 1 Ayesha Curry" or "I'll have a Kim K please"

All right, let’s try to make a little more sense of this awfully confusing debacle. Ayesha is often in the spotlight because of her NBA star hubby and their adorable family, with fans frequently declaring that women should “be more like Ayesha.” Just two days after Kim shared her first nude selfie, a video surfaced of Ayesha tossing confetti on Stephen after a game. Of course, her sweet gesture sparked another round of “be more like Ayesha” and “I need me an Ayesha Curry” tweets — but the ironic timing turned it into a Twitter war between fans.
Although it’s not quite clear when Kim was brought into the discussion, it was clear that Ayesha’s previous comments about keeping her clothes on was what caused it.
Ayesha curry said "oh the new thing is dressing like that? I'd rather hold that out for my husband to see" and y'all got mad LMAO

Feminist Twitter is funny, talking about "there's nothing wrong with Kim K tweeting nudes" and "Ayesha Curry's respectability nonsense"

ayesha curry got slandered for tweeting she only got naked for her husband & Kim k is being praised & called 'liberated' for tweeting nudes

So a video of Ayesha doing something cute for her husband turned into her being Kim’s latest enemy? Yep, guess so. As the haters trolled her, though, plenty of people had Ayesha’s back and declared that this debate was only happening because people are jealous of her. But there was one tweet that really summed it all up.
Ain't nothing wrong with being an "Ayesha Curry" and nothing wrong with being a "Kim K" both found men who love them so ain't no right way
