Lucy Hale recently said ‘Pretty Little Liars’ is definitely ending after Season 7, but executive producer Marlene King once said she could see the series going past that. So when’s it really wrapping up? Brendan Robinson revealed what he knows to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
If we had it our way, Pretty Little Liars would go on forever, and we’d see Emily (Shay Mitchell), Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) get married, have children, and get stalked well into their elder years. But alas, all good things must come to an end. So when is Freeform’s flagship series wrapping up? Lucy recently said after Season 7, but that may not be true. Find out what Brendan Robinson had to say about it!
“I actually don’t know [when the show will end]. I think that if people are still wanting more to the story… I think that personally, as a viewer, it’s always my pet peeve when a show ends and you want more out of the story, or they leave things up in the air. I don’t think they’d ever do that with this show. I think that whenever they decide to wrap it up, everything is definitely for sure going to get wrapped up. It’s been the flagship series for the network and I don’t think the network or the studio would let it end without every plot line being tied up. I think as long as everything gets resolved, if there is more story to be told past Season 7, I think it’s great to continue. But if everyone feels that’s where the story ends, then that’s when it’d be time to wrap it up and put it to bed. At the moment, it’s all been speculation, but there’s nothing official,” Brendan told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, when we caught up with him on the set of a video shoot for AXE Black Body Wash.
Brendan might not know when the show is ending, but at least nothing is “official,” despite what Lucy recently revealed.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Lucy appeared on the Feb. 25 episode of The Late Late Show, and she told host James Corden that “[PLL] is ending” after Season 7. “We’ve been doing it for six years… and I think that all good things must come to an end,” she said.
On the bright side, executive producer Marlene King would rather have the fans decide the fate of the show. “I think we’ll let the fans tell us what they want,” she told our sister site Variety in Aug. 2015. “I think we’re open to [a Season 8].”
