Watch out Chris Harrison, #TeamJubilee is a strong one! After ‘The Bachelor’ host referred her as ‘complicated,’ Amy Schumer took to Twitter to blast him, saying there’s nothing wrong with that!
The Bachelor: Women Tell All special was actually one of the less intense ones we’ve seen — but it definitely had its moments. One of those was when Jubilee Sharpe took the hot seat and revealed how Ben really reacted to the news that her family had passed away, and the fact that she knew she was hard to love.
“Ben was everything that I thought he was. You know, my complicated past as a huge obstacle. When I told him about my past, I was terrified,” Jubilee said on Women Tell All. “That’s not a basis for a relationship. ‘Hey Ben, my whole family died. Let’s make out.'” She also added that she just feels like she’s “hard to love.”
Later on, Chris Harrison responded with, “I know you can’t control how complicated you are. You might be complicated, and I know you stir the pot sometimes, but I hope you realize you’re a pretty special woman, and I really appreciate you coming here and opening up the way you did.” Well, not everyone took that as “appreciating” it.
“Team jubilee for life,” Amy Schumer tweeted after the episode. “There is nothing wrong with ‘complicated’ women Chris Harrison. You treated it like something she should fight. A women [sic] shouldn’t try to be less complicated so as to hopefully attract a man. And she shouldn’t find value in herself just because a dude liked her. Come on bro… She is smart and strong and a sergeant in the military. She lost her entire family and you say she must fight off being complicated.”
I didn’t see it as Chris saying she had to change, and since he seemed genuinely interested in her well being, but I do see Amy’s point. What about you HollywoodLIfers? Whose side are you on?
