Peyton Manning had the sweetest emotional moment on Mar. 7 when he broke down in tears giving his final goodbye to the NFL. But his retirement announcement wasn’t the first time he’s cried in his career! Take a look back at some of his powerful moments, here.
Awww! Peyton Manning, 39, was clearly going through a wave of emotions on Mar. 7. The legendary Denver Broncos player gave his official retirement announcement, and it left him an adorable, blubbering mess! See it, and 3 other super emotional moments, here!
Peyton is an emotional guy for a big strong football player, but that’s part of his kind-hearted charm. The Denver Broncos quarterback was clearly heartbroken to be saying goodbye to the game on Mar. 7, and nearly lost it at the end of his speech when his voice got shaky and high pitched. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my football race, and after 18 years, it’s time. God bless all of you, and god bless football.” So sweet! However, that definitely isn’t the first time Peyton got emotional, thought it will be his last in the NFL. Here are three more times he got teary.
1. Peyton also got teary in 2012 when he was cut from the Indianapolis Colts, where he spent 14 years of his 18 year career. He got choked up when he said “I sure have loved playing football for the Indianapolis Colts. For 14 wonderful years the only professional football I’ve known has been Colts football.”
2. Peyton also takes his losses very hard. When the Broncos lost Super Bowl XLVIII to the Seattle Seahawks, Peyton was caught wiping away a single tear on the sidelines. Poor guy! We don’t blame him, his team got totally clobbers 43-8. Brutal!
3. The infamous QB also hates lying. Peyton got a little sniffly when he was vehemently denying that he used the steroid HGH to improve his athletic ability in a 2015 interview. His voice got shaky and he choked up a bit saying “I don’t understand that. It’s not right.”
