The athletes are taking over the dance floor! HollywoodLife.com can confirm that NFL alum Doug Flutie and UFC fighter, Paige VanZant are both set for season 22 of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
This has to be the most athletes that have ever been on Dancing with the Stars — but we’re pretty excited about it. We previously reported that Bronco’s linebacker Von Miller will join season 22, as well as Steelers’ star, Antonio Brown. And now we can confirm exclusively that 21-year-old Paige VanZant as well as ex-Patriots QB, Doug Flutie also plan to dance the night away!
Doug Flutie, 53, is best known for his many, many years in the NFL — he was drafted in 1985 and played for the Bills, the Patriots and the Chargers over his 20 years! Since he’s joining Von Miller and Antonion Brown, this will be the first time that three NFL players will all be dancing on the same season.
Paige VanZant, on the other hand, is pretty much just kicking off her career. In 2013, she became one of 11 women signed by the UFC’s Strawweight division. She was also set to join the reality series, The Ultimate Fighter, but had to drop out because she was only 20. Her parents owned a dance studio and she practiced ballet, jazz, and hip hop for over 13 years — so, we have a hunch that she’ll be amazing.
This cast is goign to be pretty fun. Full House‘s Jodie Sweetin and GMA‘s Ginger Zee have officially been announced, and we’ve also confirmed that America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco, Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera and actress Mischa Barton will be dancing.
Watch Good Morning America on Tuesday, March 8 for ABC’s full cast announcement!
