Nate Diaz, 30, may have won the bout between himself and Conor McGregor, 27, on March 6, but his opponent wants him to know that it isn’t the last Nate’s seen of him. Despite suffering a quick defeat, Conor had no problem threatening a rematch! Watch out, Nate…apparently even a very public upset can’t keep Conor down for long!
“I stormed in and put it all on the line. I took a shot and missed. I will never apologize for taking a shot. Shit happens. I’ll take this loss like a man. I will not shy away from it. I will not change who I am,” Conor wrote in a lengthy Instagram post following his loss. While his prideful message was admirable, it was the way he closed it out that caught everyone’s attention: “Nate I will see you again.”
There you have it, UFC fans — Conor is already ready to face Nate again! Although Nate was able to take Conor down in just two rounds in UFC 196, Conor made quite the quick comeback. Conor was originally lined up to take on Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight championship, but dos Anjos was forced to pull out due to a broken foot just 11 days before the bout. Even though that ultimately resulted in Conor’s loss, he was quick to call dos Anjos out for being a “p***y” in the same Instagram post.
After firing back at haters and before hinting at a rematch, Conor made sure to also thank his fans for their support — and share some wisdom. “To the fans! Never ever shy away from challenges,” he wrote. “Never run from adversity. Face yourself head on.”
Judging by his rematch declaration, Conor knows how to take his own advice! Plus, Conor proved that he was able to quickly shake off his loss by partying his sorrows away until the late hours of the morning. If this rematch does happen, but doesn’t go Conor’s way, at least we know he’ll have no problem getting over it!
