We are getting so excited for Fox’s next live musical now that we’ve actually seen Chris in character as Judas. He looks all ready to go in his edgy leather jacket and brooding expression. We get to see Chris singing alone in a creepy warehouse, rolling around with some buddies (presumably the other disciples) and some cool behind-the-scenes footage of him recording in a studio. “I’m playing Judas. Not the most beloved character in the story, but there’s a lot of emotions that go into what he did,” Chris explains. “Portraying that struggle, that’s what really interests me about the character, because it’s something that’s very human, and very relatable.” He also shares more info on the two “new” songs, Imagine Dragons’ “Demons” and Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life.” While they’re familiar, Chris says they will have “very different interpretations.”

The Passion is the re-telling of Jesus’ final days, but set in New Orleans in the 21st century. Chris is just one of the star-studded cast members that we’re so excited to see. Jencarlos Canela will lead the show as Jesus, Tyler Perry will be the host and narrator, Prince Royce will play Peter, Seal will be Pontius Pilate, and the fabulous Trisha Yearwood will play Mary. We can’t wait to see them all in their roles on Sun. Mar. 20 at 8pm ET on Fox.
