Winner, winner – lobster dinner! Ted Cruz is probably treating himself to a seafood buffet after winning the Maine Republican caucus on March 5. We have the results, here!
Maine has spoken and the voters of the Pine Tree State say they want Ted Cruz in the White House. Days after Donald Trump, 68, set Portland on fire while burning Mitt Romney, 68, the state came together to give Ted the win in the Republican caucus!
Forget the butter, the Republican presidential candidates wanted the 23 delegates that were up for grabs in the March 5 vote. Ted came away the big winner of the night with 45.8% of the GOP vote at the Maine caucus. Ted crushed Donald at 32.5% and left John Kasich in the dust with just 12.2%. Marco Rubio totally choked and got only 8% of the vote. Woof. Ted is starting to close the gap with Donald. He now has the support of 6 states, while Donald still has 10 and Marco has just 1.
All eyes were on Portland, Maine on just two days before the state’s Republican Caucus. But the drama all started in Utah, when Mitt spoke from the University of Utah’s Hinckley Institute on March 3. The 2012 Republican presidential candidate delivered an epic takedown of Donald Trump, calling him a “phony” and a dangerous fraud whose “promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University.” You know what’s certainly worth more than a Trump U diploma? To no one’s surprise, Donald had something to say about this. Donald called Mitt a “chicken” who was scared to death of him. He even dropped a crude sexual slur on Mitt. “You can see how loyal he is,” Donald said. “He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said ‘Mitt, drop to your knees.’ He would have dropped to his knees.” Uh, yikes!
From Maine, the campaign rolls to Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan and Mississippi, who will hold their votes on March 15. Are you excited to see who wins those elections, HollywoodLifers? Are you happy with the winner of the Maine caucus?
