Bernie Sanders did it again! The presidential candidate won the Nebraska Democratic caucus on March 5, like it was nothing. So how many wins is this for Bernie now? We’re losing count!
Bernie Sanders proved to be victorious in Nebraska at the democratic caucuses on March 5! The presidential candidate dominated the Cornhusker State, making this yet another reason why Bernie’s looking to be a serious contender for the White House! Hillary Clinton better watch her back. We have the results, here.
It’s hard to believe it, but Bernie won the election with a narrow 54.8% of the vote to Hillary’s 45.2%. Not too shabby. Poor Hillary. This one has to sting! Super Saturday is turning out to be quite the shocker, with Bernie stacking up the wins, now with 7 states to Hillary’s 10! Watch out, girl. Bernie’s coming for ya!
Going into the election, Bernie was favored to win the state, though that prediction wasn’t huge. It looks like he met expectations with flying colors! The largely white population in Nebraska is similar to that of Iowa, where Bernie and Hillary wound up in a neck-and-neck race for the win. That one, of course, narrowly went to Hillary by just fractions of percentage points. After Super Tuesday, though, she was cemented as the certified lead, winning seven states to Bernie’s four. That didn’t mean this whole thing was over — not by a long shot!
This is just the second contested presidential election that Nebraska has opted to decide by caucus. Up until 2008, the race was decided by regular primary. Hillary was likely anxious going into Nebraska. When she faced off against now-president Obama in 2008, he won the state by a large majority. With the Nebraska democratic caucuses over, it’s time to look forward to the next votes. Is your state coming up?
