April may have revealed to Arizona that she’s pregnant, but she still kept it a secret from Jackson on the March 3 episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ However, Alex figured it out on his own, so it’s only a matter of time before Jackson does, too.
Having just signed divorce papers, you would think that April (Sarah Drew) would want to tell Jackson (Jesse Williams) she’s pregnant with his child, but nope! She still kept it a secret from her ex-husband on the March 3 episode of Grey’s Anatomy. But when she does finally expose her secret — will they get back together? We can only hope!
We live blogged the new episode this week — see what happened below:
At the hospital later that day, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) tried convincing April to tell Jackson about her pregnancy, but she didn’t want to. She doesn’t want Jackson to get back together with her just because she’s carrying his baby.
After finding out about Andrew’s relationship with Maggie, Richard forced him to do his scut — rectal exams, picking up dry cleaning, and more. But he has yet to tell Andrew what he knows.
A patient later entered the hospital and it was none other than Katie Bryce (Skyler Shaye) — Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) very first patient! She requested Dr. Shepherd, but was shocked when Amelia showed up. And when Meredith showed her face, she almost freaked. She couldn’t believe they let Meredith become a doctor after acting like a neurotic intern the last time they met.
Later, Jo met Alex (Justin Chambers) in the elevator and brought up the ring. Yet, when he asked if she has an answer for him yet, she said no. Then, she scurried out of the elevator to escape the awkwardness.
When Amelia and Edwards did a head scan on Katie, they were shocked to find a very big aneurysm. And likely because she was distracted by Katie’s return to the hospital, Meredith sliced a patient open and a ton of blood oozed out. Uh oh! Meredith kept telling her patient that it was normal, but she paged Riggs for help. Then because she was held up with her leaking patient (yes, we just said “leaking”), she sent Penny back and forth to Amelia to find out information on Katie.
Jo told Edwards that the engagement ring Alex gave her is like a “loaded gun” sitting in her end table at home. She said she wants the ring, but not right now.
Richard and Maggie had an awkward conversation about Andrew after she realized he knows about their affair. But neither party actually talked about what’s going on.
When Amelia asked Katie to sign a surgery consent form, she asked what Amelia has always had insecurities about — “are you as good as your brother? Are you better than him?” That question spooked her so much that she almost broke things off with Owen because she was afraid she’s not good enough for anything — even maintaining a relationship. But when she said Meredith doesn’t think she can save Katie, Owen told her not to care what Meredith thinks. He also told her she’s more than capable of saving Katie. Aw!
Cue the tears! During a scene, where Meredith’s patient started bleeding out, and Amelia wheeled Katie to surgery, “Into The Fire” by Thirteen Ghosts was heard playing in the background — it’s the very same song that played in the pilot. There were also flashbacks of Derek from the pilot. Ah, we loved it!
Jo finally mustered up the courage to tell Alex to keep the ring in the drawer. To us, that seemed like hope for the future! Then, Jackson gave April some money for something he owed her. He said he didn’t want to have that over his head. After he walked away, Alex confronted April and said he knows she’s pregnant. He said he could just tell because he works in pediatrics. When she said she hasn’t told Jackson yet, Alex suggested she tell him before he figures it out, too.
On a positive note, Katie survived! And she apologized to Meredith for thinking she was a bitch. Then, Amelia overheard Meredith telling Katie that she’s a great surgeon, so that put a smile on her face.
