The two times that went crazy for idols this week, ended up being the two teams that didn’t need ’em.
Another week of Survivor, another twist from Jeff Probst: this time, in the form of a Super Idol. That’s right — certain idols fit together and if you find both, instead of being able to use it before the votes are used, you can use it afterward. Clearly, that changes everything.
For the beauty tribe, Tai had one mission: find that idol. Ok, and to also keep the animals alive. He got one of those done! He was the first to learn about the Super Idol, and then we had to watch him break down over the killing of one of the chickens. I get it, I do — but if you’re a fan of the show and you need food, you do what you’ve got to do.
On the Brawn tribe, the focus was also on the idol — and everyone was stabbing each other in the back to get to it. Alecia found the clue and shared it with Cydney; however, when Alecia turned around, Cydney told her she needed a hoe to dig it up because Cydney had spotted the idol.
They needed a key to get the idol though — and Jason found that first, and had no problem literally knocking over the guys to get it. Let’s be honest, that guy is going to hurt however it takes to get his way. And he did. In my opinion, I’m not sure why you ever would search for an Idol with another person: you can’t share it, guys.
For this week’s immunity/reward challenge, beauty dominated thanks to Caleb, and for the first time, brawn didn’t lose; they came in second. So that meant someone on the Brains tribe had to go. There was a clear line in the sand: no one could relate to Debbie or Joe.
However, Peter was a huge threat, as was Neal — basically, no one got along. So, what went down? A three-way tie between Aubrey, Liz and Peter. And with the revote, the blindside reappeared, and Liz was sent home.
Were you shocked?
