Desperate to join Demi Lovato and Iggy Azalea’s squad? Well, you’re in luck! The ‘Confident’ singer just took to Twitter to reveal the guidelines for getting into her badass girl gang, and as it turns out it has nothing to do with being rich and famous. You just have to really enjoy ‘pissing people off!’
Looks like Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez may have some competition in the title for coolest girl squad! Besties Demi Lovato and Iggy Azalea were caught sharing an adorable Twitter exchange on March 2, during which they revealed the very strict criteria they have for getting into their A-list crew. Don’t worry, you don’t need a platinum album to make the cut — apparently, you just have to give “zero f**ks!” Um, where do we sign up?!
Demi and Iggy have always given us #FrienshipGoals, but this latest Twitter exchange just took things to a whole new level! It all went down when Demi announced that she was in the mood to go on “a mini Twitter spree,” prompting Iggy to follow up with a tweet telling the “Cool For The Summer” singer to “come ova” — presumably to her house, which coincidentally, is right next door — before adding, “don’t make me egg your house.” Brief though it may have been, the exchange was enough to get the attention of one at least Twitter user who, like all of us, was curious to know what it takes to be apart of their clearly very awesome crew. Demi’s response: “Say sh-t that pisses people ff and give zero f-ks.” AMAZING!
Demi and Iggy are all about just being who they are, and we absolutely love them for it. The “Kingdom Come” singers have never been afraid to speak their minds, no matter what the circumstances, so it should comes as no surprise to see that together, they make the perfect badass pair!
“The reason why we relate a lot to each other and the people around me—my close friends who aren’t necessarily famous or even in the industry—is that we’ve all been through a lot and we’ve come out strong,” Demi previously explained of her friendship with Iggy in an interview with Complex magazine in September 2015. “Iggy has really gone through shit and she’s come out super strong and didn’t let that take her down a devastating path. There’s respect there. “She’s very, very, very real. What you see is what you get. I think sometimes that pushes people away, but that’s what I admire about her.”
Meanwhile, it’s a good thing Demi has Iggy on her side as she recently caught some heat from Taylor and her squad after publicly dissing the “Bad Blood” singer for donating $250,000 to Kesha to help with her ongoing legal troubles. “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed,” Demi tweeted in response to Taylor’s charitable move. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long before the Swifties came out in full force against Demi, prompting her to come back with yet another no holds barred response.
“How the f**k am I making it about myself?” she wrote in an Instagram comment. “There’s no ‘rivalry’ I just give more fucks than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person.”
While Demi did later apologize for getting perhaps a little too “fired up” over the topic, admitting, sometimes my passion gets the best of me,” we doubt that she and Taylor will be joining squads anytime soon. But hey — that just means more room for the rest of us, right?!
