Ali G is back! Sacha Baron Cohen brought back one of his cherished characters for the 88th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 28 and absolutely killed it presenting ‘Room!’ Click here for the full details.
He’s back and as offensive as ever! Sacha Baron Cohen, 44, brought back alias Ali G at the 88th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 28 to present the movie Room alongside Olivia Wilde, 31, and he couldn’t wait to have a joke at The Minions expense.
Standing on stage in his full Ali G regalia, head-to-toe in a yellow jumpsuit, his trademark beanie hat, Ali appeared to talk diversity at the Oscars. However, he did it in his own usual comical style.
“How come there’s no Oscar for those little yellow people with tiny little dongs?” Ali asked drawing laughs from the A-list audience and a shocked crowd.
“I am here representing all those that have been overlooked,” he continued. “Will Smith, Idris Elbow…” Hilarious! What a joy it was to see Sasha back in his Ali G persona. Does that mean we can expect him back for good?
Who knows! And how did Ali finish talking about Room before introducing the clip? “Now check out the movie that only has white people in it!” Priceless!
Room tells the story of a woman kept enclosed in a space (room) where she is held captive by her kidnapper. She has her young son with her, played brilliantly by Jacob Tremblay, and they eventually find their freedom after managing to escape to the outside world.
We have to say, we hope next year Ali comes back to the Oscars to present yet another award — or even maybe he could host?!
