Ryan Seacrest wasn’t ready to forgive Sacha Baron Cohen for their brutal 2012 Oscars red carpet interaction, and he made it clear at the 2016 show! Sacha tried to bury the hatchet, but Ryan wasn’t having it! Click through to watch the awkward encounter!
Sacha Baron Cohen, 44, thought that four years after he spilled the “ashes of Kim Jong-Il” on Ryan Seacrest, 41, at the Academy Awards, the E! host would finally find it funny. Not the case. Ryan totally snubbed Sacha and wife Isla Fisher, 40, on the red carpet at the 2016 Oscars on February 28! Click through to watch!
Damn, Ryan; that’s cold! Though Ryan was excitedly interviewing celebrities on the Oscars red carpet, as soon as he saw Oscars presenter Sacha and Isla towards him, he was caught saying “No!” and turning them away. So they kept continued walking, and Sacha spoke to the Associated Press just moments after the snub and just laughed the whole thing off!
But being Sacha, he didn’t let Ryan get away with it that easily. As Ryan was busy interviewing Lady Gaga before the show began, Sacha ran up, said a polite hello to Gaga, and gave Ryan a huge bear hug. Oh my god! “Hello!” a clearly shocked Ryan replied. “What’s in your hands? What’s in your hands? Check his hands!”
Ryan’s talking about that fateful meeting on the 2012 Oscars red carpet, in which he had the (mis?)fortune of interviewing Sacha in-character as The Dictator. Sacha was carrying an urn with him down the carpet, which he explained was filled with the “ashes” of dead North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il. He “accidentally” spilled them all over Ryan’s tux and E!’s station on the red carpet! Yeah, Ryan wasn’t happy; that joke wasn’t planned!
Though Ryan was probably a bit wary of another interview with Sacha, the two already made up years ago, while Sacha was hosting Saturday Night Live. Isla came up to Ryan backstage and apologized for her husband! Sacha himself approached Ryan and told him how sorry he was, too. Looks like they’re going to be just fine!
