He waited 22 years to finally nab himself an Oscar, but is it just us, or did Leonardo DiCaprio look way more excited about digging into his Girl Scout cookies than he did when he actually went up to accept his ‘Best Actor’ award? See the hilarious new pic here!
And the Oscar goes to…Leonardo DiCaprio! After 22 years and six nominations, perhaps no one was more excited to hear that phrase at the Academy Awards on Feb. 28 more than actor himself. And yet, as it turns out, that may not have even been the biggest highlight of the 41-year-old actor’s night. A hilarious new photo has surfaced and in it, Leo looks way more excited about his box of girl scout cookies than he did when he actually took to the stage to accept his ‘Best Actor’ award. See for yourself here!
Okay, so while we’re sure Leo was beyond thrilled to have finally received his first Oscar, we can’t deny the hilariousness of this latest meme. Before he even took to the stage to accept his shiny golden statue, The Revenant actor was among those sitting in the audience who decided to do host Chris Rock, 51, a solid by buying some of his daughter’s girl scout cookies. In the pic, which is now swiftly taking over the Internet, Leo can be seen ever so slightly licking his lips in anticipation as he prepares to dig into his box of cookies. To be fair, our faces would probably look like that too if we hadn’t eaten in hours and were then suddenly surprised with something as delicious as Girl Scout cookies. Either way, this photo is magical and makes us love Leo that much more.
For those who missed the epic cookie moment at the Oscars on Feb. 28, they were part of a comedic skit Chris did in the middle of the show — not unlike the pizza delivery stunt Ellen Degeneres pulled at the awards ceremony in 2015. In a vow to help his daughter finally sell the most cookies in her troop this year, Chris asked everyone in the audience to pitch in and buy some cookies. “I want you to reach into your millionaire pockets, and I want to you buy some of my daughters Girl Scout cookies,” he joked with the crowd. “Leo! You made 30 million, come on!” He also made sure John Legend and Kate Winslet opened her wallet for some sweet treats before ultimately raising over $65,000! Best dad or what?!
Of course, when he wasn’t munching on cookies, Leo was busy celebrating his long-awaited Oscar win in a much more glamorous way. After he made one amazing speech that left Kate Winslet, 40, in tears, he reunited with his former Titanic co-star backstage for a touching moment that left fans of the film swooning. Kate couldn’t help but show her love for her friend by giving him a giant hug, proving that their friendship really is the greatest thing in Hollywood.
And if you thought all of that was cute, just wait until you see the video of him getting his Oscar engraved with his name at the Governors Ball! As is tradition, Leo made his Oscar win official by having his name engraved into the iconic statue. While he remained calm, cool and collected throughout the night, even he couldn’t resist poking fun at his previous bad luck at the show while talking to the engraver. “Do you do this every year?” he asked before adding, “I wouldn’t know.” LOL! Seriously, could he be any cuter?!
