Kate may have been happier than Leo over his victory at the 88th Academy Awards on Feb. 28. After being denied for so long, Leo won the biggest prize in Hollywood. Though Kate didn’t win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Steve Jobs, her night ended on a high note as she cheered on Leo’s success! With her hands clenched to her lips and eyes wet with years, Kate watched on as Leo basked in the glory of his amazing performance!

Then, they shared an amazing hug backstage! It was as emotional as Leo’s reaction to his win, as he admitted his “dream” came true. Leo must have thought about all his auditions as he watched his name being engraved on his Oscar.

Kate and Leo won a place in movie-lovers’ hearts by playing Rose and Jack in Titanic, but their friendship has gone way beyond the 1997 blockbuster. These two attended the 1998 Golden Globes together and ever since, they have been the most adorable BFFs in all of Hollywood. And though fans would have loved to see Jack and Rose get together in real life, Kate revealed that she and Leo love each other — just not like that. Fans will just have to be satisfied with Leo’s victory, as they celebrated with meme after meme.

There was no way that Kate was going to miss seeing Leo’s big moment. After all, he can now stop being another great actor without an Oscar. Even with the “#OscarsSoWhite” controversy surrounding this year’s ceremony, Kate vowed to be there to cheer on Leo — win, lose or draw.

It’s not like Leo hasn’t been there for Kate. When she won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical of Comedy for her role in Steve Jobs, the first person to congratulate her was Leo. It was so sweet to see these two reunite, especially since it was Leo who walked Kate down the aisle during her 2012 wedding to her third husband, Ned Rocknroll.

Were you as excited as Kate, HollywoodLifers? Are you glad Leo won?
