Jimmy Kimmel knocked it out of the park with his 11th annual ‘After The Oscars’ special and did everything from hilarious take on ‘Creed,’ to continuing to poke endless amount of fun at Matt Damon! But it was his ‘The Producers’ spoof about Donald Trump that had us dying with laughter.
Jimmy Kimmel, 48, always slays in his post-Oscar telecasts, which bring him some of the biggest audiences of the year. So of course he was going to pull out all the stops in entertaining us, as the show was jam-packed with special guests, which included Matthew Broderick, 53, and Nathan Lane, 60, reprising their Broadway The Producers characters to poke fun at Donald Trump, 69.
Nathan and Matthew are back in their characters of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, but this time around they’re political consultants and not theater producers. The premise remains the same – that they might make more money from a losing candidate that a winner, and that they’ll raise tons money, the candidate drops out of the race once the public realizes how crazy he is and then they get to keep all the money!
But as Nathan’s character remarks, they have to be the worst candidate in history. Where could they ever find anyone like that? Cue to them turning on the TV and there’s Donald! They get behind selling him to the American public because “crazy old semi-racist white people” would totally vote for him! They jokingly remark “he won’t even last a week” after they had him make comments about building a wall across the border – and making the Mexican government pay for it!
They’re so shocked that they’ve got a winner on their hands when shoeshiner Jimmy pops up to remark “Well I hear he’s a proven businessman who knows how to get things done.” Even Jimmy’s assistant Guillermo gets in on the fun by reminding everybody that Donald “Will keep out the Mexicans!” Click here to get the original Mel Brooks film The Producers.
“Just in time for the election, it’s a story that starts out funny and gets really, really depressing” a narrator announces, adding that “From The Producers of The Producers comes the movie that will make America great again” in Trumped. OUCH, but ever so brilliant!
