Rachel McAdams stunned when she stepped out on the red carpet at the Academy Awards with her fresh platinum blonde hair and gorgeous, emerald-lined eyes. Click ahead for the details on her glam Oscars look!
Rachel McAdams, 37, went full-on platinum ahead of the Academy Awards on February 28. The actress, who was nominated for Actress In A Supporting Role for the film, Spotlight, wore her short bob hair pulled back. To match her emerald green gown by August Getty, Rachel’s eyes were lined with a deep green eyeliner.
Rachel’s sister, Kayleen McAdams, helped her get Oscars ready, sharing that she used Chanel makeup for the look. Pairing her glowing skin with a pale pink lip, using Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Complete Care Lipshine in Conte, Kayleen gave Rachel emerald-lined eyes with long black lashes. To get the look, Kayleen first applied Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base at the crease of Rachel’s eyes and along her lower lashline. She then applied Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Griffith Green as close to Rachel’s lashline as possible and finished with two coats of Chanel Inimitable Mascara Noir along her top and bottom lashes.
Mark Townsend was behind Rachel’s clean updo, prepping her damp hair with Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oil. After blow drying her hair, Mark straightened each section with the ghd Platinum Professional Styler and parted her hair off to the side, using John Masters Organics Rosemary & Peppermint Detangler throughout her hair to give it a shiny, wet look. After pulling Rachel’s hair into a textured knot and securing it with pins, Mark finished by spraying her hair with Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray.
Rachel McAdams’ Academy Awards Hair & Makeup — See Her Platinum Makeover
Rachel has had the same glam team, which includes her sister Kayleen, for the entire awards season, consistently serving up gorgeous looks. We love seeing how supportive the sisters are of one another, plus we could always count on Kayleen to keep us updated with plenty of Instagram pics throughout the season.
Rachel actually debuted her lightened up locks a few days before her big red carpet appearance at a dinner leading up to the Oscars at the Chateau Marmont. Rachel’s platinum blonde color instantly reminded us of her Mean Girls days, when she played Regina George with long, light blonde hair. Though naturally a brunette, Rachel usually keeps her hair a darker shade of blonde with the roots showing.
