Jennifer Lawrence is back at the Oscars, and she may even take home another award on Feb. 28. But while that’s exciting and all, we were more intrigued by whom she brought with her to the ceremony. It was none other than ‘Joy’ director David O. Russell!
While Jennifer Lawrence was probably more concerned with whether or not she’s going to win an Oscar again, and what dress she was going to wear, we couldn’t help but wonder who the actress was going to bring as her date to the Feb. 28 Academy Awards. And now that we know who that person is, we couldn’t be more pleased!
Jennifer, who is nominated for her role in Joy, brought the director of the movie, David O. Russell as her date to the awards show. Not only did they walk the red carpet together, but they also sat next to each other inside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
In 2014, Jennifer’s real life best friend, Laura Simpson, was her date to the Oscars, so before the night started, we thought maybe she’d bring another friend — or even her parents. Jennifer is reportedly close with her parents and occasionally brings them with her to events, but this time around, she left them at home and opted for her director instead. Good for her!

This way, even if she doesn’t win an Oscar for Joy, she still had a chance to celebrate the movie with her director by her side.
