Yep, Chris Rock just went there! The actor spent almost his entire opening monologue at the 2016 Oscars commenting on the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, and totally called out Jada Pinkett-Smith for boycotting the show. He even managed to make a sex joke about Rihanna in his epic diss!
Chris Rock held absolutely nothing back in his opening speech as host of the Academy Awards, and Jada Pinkett-Smith was the butt of one of his biggest jokes! Will Smith’s wife made a major statement by publicly declaring she wouldn’t be attending the show after learning about the lack of black nominees, and Chris majorly slammed her for the decision. See what he said here!

After pointing out that Jada hadn’t even made a movie that was recognized at the Oscars, he closed with a major zinger. “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties,” he joked, causing the audience to burst into laughter. “I wasn’t invited!” OUCH! In Jada’s defense, her husband, Will, wasn’t nominated for his role in Concussion, so her boycott was likely more stemming from that.
“At the Oscars, people of color are always welcomed to give out awards…even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments,” Jada tweeted back in January. “Should people of color refrain from participating all together?” A few other stars, including Will and Spike Lee, followed in Jada’s footsteps and decided not to attend the show. Chris spent most of his opening monologue addressing the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, but his jab at Jada was definitely one of the funnier and more shocking moments. But it wasn’t just at the beginning of the show — the comedic actor referenced the situation several times throughout the show. Do you guys think he overdid it a little? Or was it totally hilarious?
