‘Damn Daniel’ has officially hit the big time, by making it into a late night talk show’s monologue. It was Jimmy Fallon to finally jump on the national craze and do his best impression, and boy did he nail it!
Hah! Leave it to internet savvy Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, 41, to finally work in a “Damn Daniel” reference in to his Feb. 25 monologue. Not only does he do a mean impersonation of Josh Holz‘s now infamous saying about pal Daniel Lara‘s stylish white Vans, he even found a new way to incorporate the saying into an emoji lexicon. Read on for more about Jimmy’s hilarious joke.
Damn Jimmy! We’re so glad that the “Damn Daniel” craze is finally getting the late night comedy treatment, as the host set up the joke perfectly. Jimmy was mentioning how Facebook has rolled out five new emoji’s that can be used in place of the thumbs up “like,” and he noted that there was one that the company neglected to include and showed a blushing, smiley emoji with white Vans on and said we needed a “Damn Daniel” emoticon. He then launched into his own versions of trying to replicate Josh’s “Damn Daniel” saying over and over again, and in case he had any viewers who have been living under a rock this week, he advised “Google it.” To hear more about “Damn Daniel,” head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
It’s crazy how the random saying has caught on like wildlife ever since it went viral on Feb. 21. The Riverside, CA teenager rocketed to national attention, even landing a spot on TV when daytime host Ellen Degeneres, 58, had Daniel and Josh on Feb. 24 to discuss how the insanely catchy video came about. And just as it seems things were starting to die down on “Damn Daniel” front, Jimmy went and made it into late night history by uttering the line over and over! We don’t know when and if the “Damn Daniel” attention will die down, but if you’ve caught the eye of Jimmy Fallon — one of the funniest guys on the planet — something is definitely going right!
