Things changed overnight for Daniel Lara after the ‘Damn Daniel’ craze, and school has been quite different for him since the video went viral. HollywoodLife.com caught up with one of the teenager’s classmates and EXCLUSIVELY got the scoop on Daniel’s brand new entourage and popularity!
Daniel Lara was just a regular high school student before ‘Damn Daniel’ went viral last week, but he’s now definitely the cool kid in the halls of Riverside Poly High. HollywoodLife.com has the scoop on Daniel’s newfound fame straight from one of his peers — check out our exclusive interview here!
“Daniel is pretty modest about everything that has happened since [he and Josh Holz] went viral,” a student at Riverside Poly tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Daniel has an entourage now. Everywhere he goes, a group of people follow him around and everyone is taking pictures with him.” Hey, when your classmate is a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres show, you gotta get that selfie! From what we’ve learned, Daniel was a pretty shy kid before all this went down, so we can imagine he’s majorly overwhelmed. “Daniel isn’t the kind of guy who uses fame for attention,” another classmate told us EXCLUSIVELY. “He is not used to all the attention he’s getting. He said it was all kind of scary.” We can imagine! Another friend of Daniel’s added that things have gotten so crazy, Daniel might want to secretly switch to another school.
As we previously reported, Daniel was offered a modeling contract now that he’s an Internet sensation, but he had to turn it down since he wants to focus on his goal of a swimming scholarship. But don’t worry — Josh is loving the attention and already wants to film Daniel in another sure-to-be viral vid.
“[It’s] going to be a commercial for Vans,” an insider explained to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Our video production program class is trying to collaborate with Vans shoes to shoot an ad. We are trying to get a couple of pairs of Vans from the company to use in a commercial with Daniel, but this time we are going to use a sexy woman’s voice saying ‘Damn Daniel.'” Sweet!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Daniel’s fame will die down any time soon?
