Yikes! What looked like a fairly straightforward episode of ‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ was turned on its head when Jenny shook up alliances during the tribal council. But would she pay the price for her scheming?
Picking alliances and sticking with them is an important skill on Survivor, one that Jenny obviously hadn’t learned. As the 17 remaining tribe members on the Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty game battled it out, the contractor tried to outwit her competitors by altering alliances. But did it work?
After narrowly escaping elimination on the season premiere, Alecia AKA “blondie”, clearly had a target on her back. After cutting Darnell lose during the first elimination, the Brawn tribe mates strategized Alecia’s demise. The cute young real estate agent was making no friends fast as the rest of the Brawn tribe felt she was fairly useless. But the girl definitely has spirit and determination, working her tail off all day long to start a fire to cook on, while the men slept. Typical!
Meanwhile in the Beauty tribe, Tai the gardener and former Big Brother contestant Caleb, formed a serious bromance. Despite having seemingly nothing in common, the pair formed a fast and funny friendship. But will that bond last when Caleb and the rest of the tribe find out Tai knows the location of the immunity idol. Now if he can just figure out how to get it down from the top of a palm tree. Good luck Tai!
The Brains tribe was really feeling it after their victory in the first challenge of the season, becoming more cohesive and bonded than ever. That is except for poor Debbie. The chemist, who certainly moves to the beat of her own drummer, quickly became the outsider in her tribe — although she didn’t seem to know it. Despite the tribe starting off united, infighting and nitpicking between Liz, Joe and others soon emerged and the tribe was showing signs of erupting.
After a long, exhausting log carrying obstacle course through water, it was Beauty that beat the Brawny and Brainy tribes. Despite a challenge favoring the muscle-bound tribe, they ended up last when former NBA star, Scott Pollard, couldn’t hit the all important final target. Although they clearly lost the challenge because of his poor marksmanship, Scott’s alliance with Jenny, Jason the sunburned bounty hunter and Cydney the body builder, left him in a good position. That leaves Alecia.
Little Alecia looked as good as gone until Jenny started having a change of heart. She decided to create a new alliance with the women in her tribe Alicia and Cydney with the intent of voting off Jason. Unfortunately for Jennifer, indecision got the better of her and she just couldn’t make up her mind, which got her tribe mate Cydney concerned.
Still, Jen seemed to be safe going into the final council with either Alicia or Jason the most likely to be sent home by Jeff Probst. Jenny just couldn’t keep quiet though and admitted that her allegiance to Jason and Scott was “up in the air.” This obviously shocked the men and what was supposed to be a simple vote to eliminate Alicia, quickly turned into one of the most uncomfortable tribal councils of all time! In the end Jenny’s flip-flopping and scheming was her undoing and she was sent home. The tribe spoke…and they said Jenny, you’re outta here! And she thought having a worm crawl into her ear was bad!
