This is getting serious. Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven made it to the second leg of the Champions League, but now they have to beat each other if they want to keep going. PSV has been outplaying Atleti recently, but they’re missing their best player, so you’ll just have to watch the live stream here to see what happens!
Atletico Madrid will be taking on Dutch PSV Eindhoven on Feb. 24 in the first game of round 2 of the Champions League. The pair will face off in Philips Stadion, Eindhoven, which will make it that much more difficult for Atleti, as they’ve never beaten PSV on Dutch soil. The game will begin at 2:45 PM, EST, and you won’t want to miss a second of this action. CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE ATLETICO MADRID VS PSV EINDHOVEN MATCH LIVE STREAM.
Apart from not having home field advantage, Atletico has several other odds stacked against them. Of the 7 games they’ve played in the new year, they’ve only won 2. That means they aren’t even the best in their league this year, falling behind Barcelona. Not to mention they were knocked out of the Copa Del Rey.
However, they do have one of the best defenses in Europe’s top 5 leagues, with just 11 conceded in 25 games. This could prevent PSV from killing them, but PSV manager Phillip Cocu is aware and careful. “We’ll need to bring the same work and intensity,” he told IB Times. “We gave Heracles too much space in the second half and made the field too big. We can’t do that on Wednesday because Atletico are deadly on the counter attack.”
PSV has it’s own struggles, having lost their best player Luuk de Jong to a suspension. He was their top individual scorer and now they’ll have to make due without him. However, they will be getting back two previously injured powerhouses, Midfielder Andres Guardado and forward Maxime Lestienne.
These guys are crushing this season, having won 7 of 8 games since returning from winter hiatus. This would be a major win for the team, who hasn’t made it past the knockout round in the past 9 years. Now, they’re the favorite to win, but the only way to find out is to tune in to the live stream.
