It was quite a journey for Roberto Hernandez on Season 17 of The Biggest Loser, but during the Feb. 22 finale, all his hard work proved to pay off. Roberto started the show at 348 pounds, but when he stepped on the scaled during the live finale, the number read just 188! Can you believe that?! It was enough to defeat 2nd place finisher, Stephen Kmet, who dropped 133 pounds, which, obviously, was also not an easy feat. Winning the show means Roberto takes home a $250,000 grand prize, but what’s really important, of course, is how much this weight loss will alter his lifestyle for the better.
Roberto actually started the show competing against his twin brother, Luis Hernandez, who was eliminated during Week 9. This season featured Survivor winner Richard Hatch, who only made it to Week 4, and The Voice contestant Erin Willett, who was sent home in Week 11. But all these contestants managed to keep the weight off before the live finale and showed up looking amazing! Stream shows like The Biggest Loser and more by signing up for Amazon Prime RIGHT HERE.
The 36-year-old competed on Jennifer Widerstrom’s team on the show, and it was a big win for the personal trainer — it’s only her second season on the show! Jen signed on in Season 16 to replace Jillian Michaels, and she’s definitely proven she’s a force to be reckoned with. Major congrats to her AND Roberto, of course!
