The shocking identity of the Beast was finally revealed on the Feb. 23 episode of ‘Teen Wolf.’ Plus, Crystal Reed returned in an all-new role!
Raise your hand if you’re still reeling from finding out the identity of the Beast. Everyone? OK. On the Feb. 23 episode of Teen Wolf, Gerard explained the Beast’s history to Lydia, Scott and Liam went toe-to-toe with the Beast, and then they realized this monster is someone they know and love.
To learn more about the Beast, the episode flashed back to 1760. Gilles Marini’s character Sebastien was at war. When Sebastien and his comrade sought shelter, this woman creepily told them they weren’t safe. There was a creature of the night on the run. Yup, you guessed it. It’s the Beast. Well, the Maid of Gevaudan was going to give this monster a run for his money. Her real name was Marie, but we all know her as CRYSTAL REED!
Marie heard a group of men talking about the Beast. Her brother, played by Gilles, said she was the best hunter out there. She was basically everyone’s Katniss. She went out with a posse and was one of the only survivors. She actually managed to injure the Beast. Marie was nearly killed, but a man saved her with mountain ash. He offered to help teach her how to protect herself, but she didn’t care anything about survival. She just wanted to know how to kill the Beast.
While regrouping, she put wolfsbane in the wine to single out who was the Beast. One guy flinched, and she took him outside. He told her to go to the cellar. When she did, she found a slew of dead bodies. This guy wasn’t the Beast, though. He was covering for the real Beast, who was actually her BROTHER!
‘I’m Not Allison’
Marie immediately confronted her brother. He didn’t feel bad about what he had done AT ALL. And he wasn’t worried that his hunter sister knew he was the Beast. He thought she wouldn’t kill him because they were family. LOL. Dude, you better run. She went back to her pal to figure out a way to kill the Beast and her brother.
She did just that, but he wasn’t going down without a fight. He was ready to kill her. But it was Marie who put the sear right through her brother’s heart. He thought he would just heal, but what she had just stabbed him with wasn’t just an ordinary sear. It combined mountain ash, wolfsbane and her blood. Bye, Beast. GOODBYE.
Gerard was explaining all of this to Lydia. Parrish cut out before Gerard ever finished the story. He was still trying to process everything he’d learned about himself. He was also feeling really guilty. “I’m not just the harbinger of death, I’m the cause of it,” he said. Fortunately for everyone, Parrish wasn’t everyone’s only hope. There was Lydia.
Lydia was still certain that they all needed Parrish. The Argents weren’t so sure. Like Marie, Lydia wasn’t control by her power. Lydia wanted to know why they had so much interest in her helping defeat the Beast. Well, the Argents had a connection to the Beast. Marie married her pal, whose last name was Argent. She became the first hunter. This was Lydia’s response: “I’m not an Argent, and I’m not Allison.” BOOM.
Those Bloody Shoes
Meanwhile, Beast 2.0 was wreaking havoc at the high school. Liam survived his run-in with the Beast, but he was barely hanging on. Stiles nearly passed out from looking at all the blood. Thankfully, Hayden took away some of Liam’s pain by making out with him. It was a win-win situation.
Scott was looking to be a hero, and he went after the Beast. They ended up in the library. Scott was getting the sh*t beat out of him. Liam helped save his alpha, and Braeden came in spraying bullets. The Beast got away before they could kill it, but Scott got his scent.
Scott, with Liam, traced the Beast’s scent to a car and found a pair of bloody shoes. The Mason showed up and asked what they were doing breaking into his car. OH MY GOD. MASON IS THE BEAST! Before Scott and Liam could blink, Corey took Mason! Dun, dun, dun! Poor Liam. First, his girlfriend died and came back to life. Now his best friend is a cold-blooded killer!
