National Margarita Day Recipes: Cucumber, Watermelon & More Delicious Flavors

It's National Margarita Day and there's no better way to celebrate than with a Margarita! Shaken, frozen, no ice, salt, no salt ... the options are endless! Check out these 11 yummy margaritas recipes! It's National Margarita Day and that means we get to try out some delicious cocktails for the occasion. Whether it's with tequila, orange juice or jalapenos, we have some recipes you should whip up to ring in the day!

Beeting and Bleeding MargaritaCourtesy of Diamond Horseshoe
– 2 oz Tequila
– 1 1/2 oz of Homemade Sour Mix
– 1/2 oz of Muddled Beets
– 3/4 oz of Blood Orange Juice
Mix and Garnished with a Salt, Sugar and Cocoa 1/2 rim and a Heart Shaped Beet

5 Cucumber Wheels

1.5 oz Casamigos Blanco

0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice

0.5 oz Cointreau

Muddle cucumber with simple syrup and lime juice. Combine all ingredients in iced mixing glass. Shake and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with cucumber slices.

3 Watermelon Pieces

1.5 oz. Casamigos Blanco

.5 oz. Combier

.5 oz. Lemon juice

2 oz. Liquiteria Watermelon juice

Muddle watermelon pieces, add ingredients. Shake and strain over 3/4 full pebble ice in  a rock glass. Garnish with watermelon ball.

3 Jalapenos (no seeds)

1.5 oz Casamigos Blanco

0.5 oz Cointreau

1.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice

In a shaker muddle jalapeno and add Casamigos Blanco, Cointreau, simple syrup, and lime juice with ice. Serve in rocks glass over ice in rocks glass, garnish with jalapeno slice.

0.25 oz Del Maguey Mezcal Cactus

1.5 oz Herradura Silver Tequila

1 oz Cointreau

0.5 oz Prickly Pear puree

0.5 oz Fresh lime juice

Shake and strain over ice with a salt rim.

.5 oz of ginger simple syrup

1.5 oz watermelon infused white tequila (3 cubes of tequila infused watermelon)

.75 oz of fresh lemon juice

 Shake and serve over ice in double old fashioned glass.

1.5oz jalapeno infused Milagro Reposado

.5 oz triple sec

1 oz blood orange puree

Shake and serve over ice in rocks glass.

1.5 oz Tequila Blanco

1 oz Fig Syrup

0.25 oz Fresh Lime

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with a scoop of ice.  Shake well and strain into a margarita glass, salt on the rim optional.

To make Fig Syrup

2 pints Black Figs

32 oz Water

Cut figs in quarters, removing the stems.  In a small bot, bring the figs to boil with the water and sugar, lower the heat and let simmer until the syrup has reduced by half.  Strain through a chinois to remove the seeds.  Reserve.

1.5 oz Sliver tequila

0.75 oz Solerno Blood Orange

0.25 oz Fresh Lime juice

1 oz Blood Orange juice

2 Pinch Salt

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with a scoop of ice.  Shake well and strain into a margarita glass, salt on the rim optional. Serve up or on the rocks.

2 oz Blanco Tequila

0.5 oz Fresh Lime juice

.75 oz Agave Syrup

3 slices Jalapenos

3 slices Cucumber

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with a scoop of ice.  Shake well and strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.

The Twisted Margarita, Created by Cody Goldstein, Founder of Muddling Memories and Head Bartender at Upholstery Store: Food & Wine

A salty, savory “twist” on the original, this margarita pays tribute to that classic NYC snack: the pretzel.

2 parts Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila

¾ parts lime juice

½ part simple syrup

1 teaspoon mustard powder

Mustard seed and sea salt rim

Rim glass with a slice of lime. Roll rim of glass in grounded mustard seed and sea salt mixture. Combine Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila, lime, simple syrup, triple sec and mustard powder into a shaking tin. Fill half way with ice and shake for 10 seconds. Strain over ice in a rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve – ¡Salud!
